Perched at local businesses, schools, hospitals, rec centers, and on public or private display, the mermaids came to Norfolk about 10 years ago as part of a campaign to benefit the arts and have continued to bring good spirits to the Hampton Roads area.

Accidental Tourist is a beauty that has been hard to find until today! She was spotted at 1838 E. Ocean View Avenue on December 14, 2009.
Thumbelina
I drove out to capture Thumbelina at W. H. Taylor Elementary and found her in the media room, but, there was a party in progress so a teacher in the school snuck in and snapped the picture for me. Thumbelina was spotted on December 11, 2009.
Techno Mermaid

There is restricted access to Techno Mermaid, located at InfiNet at 740 Duke Street, Norfolk. A better picture will be posted when I can get in and get her snapped. I have read that she is decorated with tons of techno gadgets so I'm very eager to see her in person! Spotted 12/11/2009.
Sirena at Play in Willoughby
Sirena at Play in Willoughby is located on the side of Pretlow Library opposite the home of another beauty, Marina, in Ocean View. I actually remember being at the amusement park themed for this lady of the sea. Spotted 12/11/2009.

Suzy, The Pink Ribbon Mermaid

Suzy, The Pink Ribbon Mermaid created for the Susan G. Komen Organization, was spotted at Race for the Cure, Virginia Beach Oceanfront on
10/17/09.The smaller picture of Suzy was taken in the storage room at the Komen organization on Witch Duck Road where she was stored for repairs between the Mermaids and Martinis event of early October where she was unveilled and the Race for the Cure.
